Unfortunately, I wasn't as prepared as I should have been for the eclipse, but I tried my best to capture what I could. My cameras didn't pick up the significant change in sunlight...it grew so dim that porch lights began turning themselves on! Neighborhood dogs were barking, and people came outside to see. The first photo does the best job, I think, as you can see the reflection of the sun's corona faintly outlined in blue. It wasn't exactly a total eclipse here, but it was partial enough to be significantly noticable. My cameras, however, picked up too much exposure and rounded out the sun's light. You can see in some images that it appears a bit distorted, though, as if it isn't fully round. The eclipse is likely why.
Even though I wasn't as prepared as I should have been, I'm thankful for communal events like these. People from all over gather, talk about, and witness something happening. There's power in that. I heard a neighbor across the street speaking to his family on the porch. He said something to the extent of "Look at that. There has to be a God." I believe it, too. No matter what you believe, whoever you are, wherever you are, God bless you. I love you, and even if you don't know me, I'm honored to have shared in this communal event with you. 🙏🌒☀️
